Fingal County Council's Chief Executive has strongly criticised the protesters outside Health Minister Sion Harris's home today.

Mr. Paul Reid tweeted "No idea who the "Fingal Batallion" are. But they dont represent the great people in Fingal that I know. A cowardly protest outside the home of  Simon Harris with his wife and 3 week old baby inside".

A group of people calling themselves the 'Fingal Batallion' gathered outside the TD's home in Wicklow this morning and some reports suggest they also blocked him from leaving his home.

Seperately, the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation also condemned the protesters, calling it 'completely inappropriate'. The INMO Tweet read "The INMO and its members condemn in the strongest possible terms the protests today outside Minister Harris' family home. The protests are completely inappropriate."

The protesters were slated across Social Media by the public, nurses and other groups for their actions.
